Redwood Capital Group Expands its Coverage of the Communications and Digital Media Sectors with the Addition of Two Senior Investment Bankers

Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch veterans Amnon Carr and Alan Goodstadt join growing investment bank as Partners

New York - Redwood Capital Group -- a leading investment banking firm serving the technology, communications, media & business services industries -- announced today that it has significantly expanded its sector coverage with the addition of two accomplished Wall Street bankers, Amnon Carr and Alan Goodstadt, who have joined the firm as Partners.  Mr. Carr brings over 15 years of investment banking and operating experience to the firm and will lead Redwood's coverage of satellite services and related communications sectors.  Mr. Goodstadt, with 20 years of investment banking, private equity and entrepreneurial experience, will lead the firm's coverage of key areas of digital media, including digital music and consumer Internet.

Mr. Carr has over 15 years of investment banking and operating experience across the satellite services, telecommunications and communications technology industries, having advised on over $30 billion worth of successful strategic and financial transactions for companies such as Intelsat, PanAmSat, Liberty Media, Stratos Global, Hughes Communications, and numerous emerging growth companies. Before joining Redwood, Mr. Carr was a Managing Director at Jefferies & Co. and Head of Jefferies' Satellite Services Group within their Telecom Investment Banking Group. Previously, Amnon was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co. where he was Head of Satellite Services and Co-Head of Communications Technology Investment Banking.  During his tenure at Bear Stearns, Amnon originated and/or managed several "industry shaping" transactions in the satellite services sector and was widely recognized by clients as a thought-leader in the industry.  Amnon's operating experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of cellular service provider Topp Telecom (now known as TracFone Wireless) and as a senior finance executive at Hughes Electronics Corp.  Amnon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse and holds a B.A. in History from Cambridge University, England.  

Mr. Goodstadt has 20 years of investment banking, private equity and entrepreneurial experience having advised corporate clients on over 50 successfully completed M&A transactions ranging in size from $50 million to over $10 billion. Most recently, Mr. Goodstadt was a Managing Director and Head of Retail Mergers & Acquisitions at Merrill Lynch & Co.  Previously, Alan served as a Managing Director at Banc of America Securities where he was Head of Consumer & Retail Mergers & Acquisitions.  During Alan's Wall Street career he has completed transactions for numerous clients including Nike, Albertson's, Circuit City, GameStop, Foot Locker, Tiffany, Lowe's, Saks, Turner Broadcasting, Blockbuster Entertainment and Macy's.  Earlier in his career, Alan served in a senior position at CSFB Equity Partners, a $2.7 billion private equity fund controlled by Credit Suisse First Boston, where he led deal teams in executing and monitoring investments primarily in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors.  Alan began his Wall Street career at JP Morgan Chase as a credit officer working with small and middle-market businesses.  Alan's entrepreneurial and operating experience include co-founding an innovative Los Angeles-based retail business and serving on the Advisory Board and as Chief Financial Officer of The Jam NYC, a recreational music organization for amateur musicians in New York City.  Alan holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University.
