New York, March 27, 2006 - Redwood Capital Group, a leading investment banking firm serving the technology, communications and media industries, announced today that it has significantly broadened its sector coverage by the addition of two accomplished Wall Street bankers. Robert Doherty and James Singer have joined as Partners of Redwood Capital focused on coverage of communications and technology companies from the firm's New York headquarters.

Robert Doherty has 20 years of investment banking and operating experience in the communications and technology sectors, having completed approximately $30 billion of transactions during his Wall Street career coupled with senior level operating experience within the communications industry. Robert formerly served as a Managing Director in the Telecommunications Group of Jefferies & Company, where he was responsible for coverage of small and middle-market communications companies. He also served as a Managing Director at Salomon Smith Barney, where he advised communications and technology companies on a wide range of capital raising and strategic initiatives. Robert started his investment banking career in PaineWebber's Telecommunications and Media Group. During Robert's tenure on Wall Street he has completed transactions for numerous leading communications and technology companies such as Nextlink, Metromedia Fiber Network, Focal, Adelphia Business Solutions, US LEC, GT Group Telecom, Sprint/Sprint PCS, Corning and Nortel. Robert's operating and management experience includes serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc.
James Singer has over 25 years of investment banking experience advising corporate clients on over $40 billion worth of merger, acquisition, restructuring and financing transactions. Most recently, Jim led C.E. Unterberg, Towbin's mergers and acquisitions business, where he advised clients in applications software, semiconductor, satellite communications and other technology businesses on such high profile M&A deals as the $600 million sale of SCT to SunGard Data Systems, TelCom Semiconductor's $300 million merger with Microchip Technology and ViaSat's acquisition of Scientific-Atlanta's Satellite Network Business. Jim also served as a Managing Director in the M&A Groups of both CIBC World Markets and Salomon Brothers. He began his Wall Street career at Dillon Read. As a seasoned M&A banker, Jim has advised a number of clients such as Chrysler Corporation, Chevron, Gulf Oil Corporation and Lyondell on notable merger transactions in a variety of industries. Other technology companies Jim has advised on successful transactions include Orbital Sciences, Zoran Corporation, Silicon Image and IBM.
