For more than 15 years he has focused on mergers and acquisitions, primarily in the communications sector. Over the last decade, Russ developed significant experience across all areas of the communications industry including hardware and software infrastructure, communications components technologies, systems integration, and telecommunications and cable service providers. During this period, Russ has focused primarily on M&A and has advised on more than 40 mergers and acquisitions for clients in the communications sector. Prior to joining Redwood Capital, Russ was a Principal with JP Morgan’s Technology Investment Banking Group where he focused on communications equipment and software companies. Russ has also served as Director of Strategy and Corporate Development for Lucent Technologies. Russ began his banking career with Merrill Lynch’s Merger and Acquisitions Group in New York where he was a Vice President, involved in numerous domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. Russ holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. |
Redwood Advises Cogmed Systems AB in its Sale to Pearson plc
Karolinska Development has divested Cogmed, one of Karolinska Development’s portfolio companies, to Pearson where it will become part of Pearson’s Clinical Assessment business. Karolinksa Development and other owners will receive an up front payment, as well as tiered royalties up to double digit levels until June 2012 on Cogmed sales.
